Ba Bye!

I haven't been blogging of late due to a busy schedule and on most weekends, we are out fishing. I'll post some of our fishing trips soon but today, I wish to highlight my precious little boy's achievement. And you know what? Jacob is 9 months and 2 weeks old today. Time really flies.

Now back to his little achievement... Last night, I was at my parent place and hubby came to pick me up at around 9.30pm, after his game. As usual, before we left, we made it a point to get Jacob to wave and say 'bye bye' to Kong Kong and Ma Ma or anyone who was home. Hubby got Jacob to do his routine bout of saying 'bye bye' and the lifting of his right arm in the motion of opening and closing of his five tiny fingers. However, this time we were utterly surprised that Jacob actually did it so well without much help from his daddy. He lifted his arm and gently motioned his fingers excellently to which my brother commented "He waved like the Chinese Golden Fortune Cat". I must agree with him. He continued to wave for a good 5 seconds and everyone including us were amazed. He picked up so fast. We couldn't be any proud or happier with his achievement. Even Ma Ma, Kong Kong and Joyce Ah Yee was happy.

A couple of days back, he has started uttering the word bye and sometimes it sounded like ba bye. His proud daddy woke up early this morning and took him to Ah Mah's room to demonstrate his newfound skill. Likewise, Ah Mah was equally delighted and retorted in Hokkien gao la... gao la (Hokkien for clever lah).

By the way, did I mention he knows how to say mum mum when he is hungry and ma ma when he needs me and ba ba or pa pa when he needs his daddy? These are his first words and daddy was teasing him because one of his first word is mum mum. Nice.
