Jacob - 5 months 2 weeks old

I'm finally back to blogging. Been so busy with Jacob and business that I hardly had anytime for myself these days.

Jacob just turned 5 months and 2 weeks old. He is such a wonderful kid and I'm so blessed to have him in my life. He is learning to sit, walk (or at least tries to) and babbles a lot. However, he can get really cranky sometimes, perhaps, he is teething. Two weeks ago I gave him Heinz Teething Rusk, which I bought during my HK trip, to soothe his swollen gums. He chewed on it for a while but threw it away after 5 minutes. It was probably too hard and wasn't that tasty I guess. Now, he puts everything within reach into his mouth and gets aggitated very easily.

Today, I played the Baby Bright educational DVD for him to watch but atlas, his attention span is much too short to keep him occupied. He looks at me with eyes that says "Mummy, pick me up". I, on the other hand, try to evade from carrying him. He has grown so heavy (7.9kg) that sometimes my arm and back aches after 30 minutes of craddling. Took him to see his Ah Ma who was ever willing to carry him and I'm ever grateful that she could relieve me for a while.

I've realized that being a parent is no easy task. Giving birth is one thing but caring for a child is a huge responsibility. Therefore, I'm sometimes amazed how my mother did it or how a mother with 21 children manage it all.

Kudos to all mothers.
